Suggest Remedy For Bruises In Toe

I accidentally nicked the side of my toe while doing my own pedicure yesterday. Stopped the bleeding & cleaned it with Hydrogen Peroxide & put triple antibiotic ointment on it. Today it has become increasingly uncomfortable & looks bruised. Normal or a brewing infection?
