Suggest Remedy For Brownish Bruise On Ankles

I have an ankle sprain I believe. It has brownish and blueish bruises around the bone and right under at the top of the foot, tenderness and warmth is not where the bone is though. I feel a little under the weather though, is that normal during the healing process?
