I ve been but on blood pressure meds. It has went from 223/151 down to 146/104. Can t get an answer from my dr why the bottom number remains high and EKG came back abnormal. Dr is dragging their feet on a referral to a cardiologist should I be very worried?

hi you should be concerned with your diastolic pressure, which is very important.this indicated that the resting pressures are high , with changes in the ventricle wall.
your opinion from the cardiologist is mandatory to rule out diastolic dysfunction status grading of the heart, which can be due to uncontrolled or prolonged duration of hypertension.
your treatment can vary in relation to the echo findings.
