Hi there, unfortunately the severe itching that you are describing is very common for those with severe liver disease, and it is directly related to the terrible problems sleeping and other symptoms you are experiencing. In terms of discussing the process of liver transplant, it varies from region to region and also from country to country, so I would recommend you discuss the procedure with your liver doctor for additional detail. In terms of your severe itching, I would like to know first exactly what medications have been tried thus far, because that can be helpful, as well as knowing exactly what your liver disease process is due to. I would recommend you coordinate first with your liver doctor to ascertain exactly what medications might be helpful, and if all other avenues have been attempted, you can ask your doctor about whether or not he or she would recommend dialysis for you, as is attempted sometimes in patients with itching due to liver disease that does not respond to any medications. I hope this is helpful to you.
