Suggest Remedy For Body Itch

I have complete head to toe itch that won t go away. I have been bathing with Epsom salts and that helps for a short bit. I don t have any body lice or bed bugs. I think its my medications. I m on Glicazide MR 120 mg per day for type 2 diabetes. Sometimes I m so itchy it hurts and driving me crazy. What can I do?

Hi.
As per your case history of generalized itching, my treatment advice is -
1. Avoid fast food and food with artificial colors.
2. Don't take any medication without consulting a doctor as it may worsen the condition.
3. Investigations like eosinophil counts, thyroid function tests and serum IgE need to be done for finding the cause of itching.
4. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 6-8 weeks.
5. Other treatment options are oral steroid like prednisone and betamethasone taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
