Suggest Remedy For Beta Thalosimia

I found out I have an auto immune disease called Beta Thalosimia and I have lost my vision as well I have constant anemia, tired, and many other symptoms. I was told that with new medicine that blood from the mother cord if I have a child will assist me to get a lot better. I am not sure if this may be true as my spouse and I are planning to get pregnant next year. Is this true?

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Stem cells from umbilical cord could be helpful, if the baby is not suffering. HLA incompatibility will be low.
2. Beta-thalassemia is an hemolytic anemia and not an autoimmune disease. Regular blood transfusion along with plasma apheresis to remove iron could to be helpful.
3. Yes, it is true. You can give a try in relation to stem cells. This is still under research. Do get fetal DNA analysis to confirm the baby is not suffering from Beta thalassemia - its an inherited disorder.
