Suggest Remedy For Arthritis And Sciatica Pain

Had L4, L5 and sacrum pinned and rodded. Got home from surgery was doing fine felt fine. A few days later tried to get out of bed and heard a loud pop thought it was my spine popping. Shortly after my left leg got what they are calling arthritis pain didn't have it before and I'm also experiencing sciatica pain going through my right butt cheek. Could I have pulled a tendon or muscle loose from my surgery.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there,
Pulling a muscle or tendon loose is unlikely. However from your description the more likely cause is compression of your Sciatic nerve. Bed rest along with physiotherapy to reduce stress on your lower back would help you reduce the pain. Please consult your chiropractor/physiotherapist to be instructed on exercises to do and discuss TENS therapy.
Hope this helps,
DR Arun A
