Suggest Remedy For Allergic Reaction To Insect Sting In A 2 Year Old

Dear dr, My son is 2 yr and 7 months. Since past 3.6 months he is suffering from insect allergy as any mosquito or insect bites him.he gets swollen in that area, itiching is there, also it develops into a measles kind of wound. First the doctor said it is hand foot mouth. But then he gave him anti allergens, bitadiene lotion and a cream flutivate.it seems that the old ones goes by and new ones comes in. It s been long so I am a little worried . Pl help Praveen

HI...Hand foot mouth disease cannot go on like this chronically. This seems like a insect bite allergy. This requires oral anti allergic medications for symptom relief occasionally. But your son might grow of this allergy as his age progresses.

You can use Hydroxyzine at 1-2mg/kg/dose every 6th to 8th hourly for symptomatic relief.

This is a prescription drug and I suggest you see your pediatrician for this.
