Hello
Pain in the abdomen , radiating to back may be due to these possibilities , these include:
1 The first possibility is of
peptic ulcer disease or
Hiatus hernia ( as you mentioned that you were having an ulcer , so that may recurs ) . Diagnosis can be confirmed by upper G I endoscopy. Try raising the head of you bed about 4 inches with blocks. It might also help to avoid eating or drinking for 2 hours before you lie. To help control stomach acid one should not drink alcohol or drinks with caffeine in them or eat chocolates or spicy or greasy foods . Don't eat pizza, burger . Also take some antacid but if pain is sever you may need drugs like pantaprazole -d once or twice in day on empty stomach.
2 The 2nd possibility is of
pancreatitis as it may cause upper left
abdominal pain which is worse when bending over or sitting. Pancreatic enzyme like serum amylase & lipase should be measured to rule out any pancreatic cause.
3 The 3rd possibility is of any kidney stone . For diagnosis get in ultrasound of abdomen to rule out kidney stone.
As you mentioned that you were also having
gall stones 2 years back so I recommend you please get in an ultrasound of
gall bladder and exact position of stones ( stone , its size and numbers ) . For gall stones consult a surgeon and get his opinion as sometimes urdeoxycholic 300 mg twice in day flush out stone from
gallbladder .
But this is a prescription drug so consult a surgeon and get his opinion.
Good luck.
