Dear sir, My son Ritesh has affected by SMA type III from his age of 8 months. Now he is 4 years 2 months old. We started his treatment in India when he was 1years 8 months. But we didn’t get any better response of his health. Hi, welcome to HCM.
Can understand your concerns.
It's really unfortunate that your son has spinal muscular atrophy.
At present, there is no definite treatment of spinal muscular atrophy in medical science.
We have to take care of respiratory distress and pneumonia in child because as the child grows the muscles of respiratory system becomes weak and lead to pneumonia.
Physiotherapy should be done to increase muscle strength.
