General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello.

DVT causes the blood supply to the muscles to be cut off, resulting in them losing their strength and becoming weak.

The good thing about muscles is you can always return the strength by exercise. Since the last Doppler has shown that now your leg is free of any clots, I suggest you start graded exercises in your affected leg on the advise of your surgeon and physiotherapist. You will slowly but surely get back the strength in about 2-6 weeks.

Hope this helps. Wishing you good health.

Regards,
Dr Geeta
