Suggest Remedies For Tremors In Upper Extremeties

I am concerned about my father. He is in the early-mid stages of dementia, currently on Rivastigmine patch 9.5 and recently added Meloxicam for his arthtitis. He has been on Aricept and citalopram. He has developed tremors of the upper extremeties---- Do any of these medications or a combo of them cause this or is it progression of disease?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting
Meloxicam has as a well described side effect tremors of hands and/or feet.Since the symptoms started only when he started taking this drug, we can eliminated the other causes of tremors like Parkinsion's disease for now.
I will suggest you see your prescribing Doctor to reevaluate and he may decide to try a different pain medication for his arthritis after evaluating the risks and the benefits of meloxicam.
Hope my answer will help you
Best regards
