Suggest Remedies For Toe Nail Fungal Infection

A dermatologist prescribed Ketoconazole cream 2% when I had a fungus under my large toenail. I was told to apply this often. In reading about the cream, I do not see any use for this prescription to treat a toe fungus. Should I toss this, or is it useful in other areas? YYYY@YYYY Thank You!

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Miconazole cream is well indicated in the treatment of onchomycosis(nail fungi). However, due to poor penetration, an association with a systemic antifungi like griseofulvin or fluconazole or any other anti-fungi may be recommended. This however is a judgment to be made by your treating Doctor after examination.
I will suggest you use the cream as prescribed and if no improvement, you see the Doctor for an association with a systemic agent.
Hope this will help
Best regards
