Suggest Remedies For Swollen Uvula After Taking Drugs

Yesterday I did several drugs (poor choice, I know). I was drunk and I took a Xanax, snorted cocaine, smoked a considerable amount of marijuana, and then did some more cocaine. This morning I woke up with my uvula extremely swollen. Did one of these drugs cause that? If so how long will it take for the swelling to go down and how should I treat the swelling?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of swollen uvula after taking drugs which seems to be due to infection and allergic reaction. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to

- Scuk on ice pops.
- Consume honey as it has antibacterial properties.
- Gargles warm saline rinses.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Take proper course of antibiotics along with antiinflammatory medications.

Visit oral physician once and get it examined and avoid intake of any drugs for now. Visit allergy specialist once and get allergy testing done. Start treatment accordingly.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
