General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I understand your concern.
A knife injury to the thumb ,not healed in 6 months ,inflamed & obstructing day to day life does need a serious attention
* Few investigations like blood work, blood sugar , culture and sensitivity test for selection of antibiotics/ excluding diabetes/knowing the gravity of infection is usually done.
* a physical examination by an expert surgeon along with the pathology reports would help in deciding line of treatment.
Thanks
