Suggest Remedies For Stiff Neck, Fever And Cold

I have a 5 year old son who two nights ago complained of a sore/stiff neck, in the morning after, his neck felt fine, but the stiffness/pain returned later in the day. He has had only a very slight fever with a cold if any fever at all. Should I be concerned?

Hi welcome to the health care magic

In viral upper respiratory tract infection congestion symptoms can occur with slight fever, cold and muscle pain...
Symptomatic management done for that with antihistaminic drugs....

But if muscle stiffness and especially neck stiffness present than meningitis like presentation has to be ruled out...
For that clinical examination done and if suspected than CSF fluid collection needed to rule it out....

If no improvement and seems bacterial than antibiotic course needed

Take care

Consult pediatrician for examination and further work up accordingly

Hope your concern solved
