My ear and its surroundings has been causing discomfort for a couple of days. Also got neck and shoulder pain. Ent doc gave Beclomin ear drops to fill my ear two times a day. Neck and shoulder pain gone but ear pain and sometimes sharp pain in head has come

Hi,

Noted your history of pain in ear and around, neck pain, Doctor advised instilling Beclomin drops twice daily, neck and shoulder pain has gone but sometimes pain in ear and sharp pain in head comes on.
Since you have not mentioned about the diagnosis by your Doctor it is difficult to say what is causing what.
The commonest causes I can think about are as follows:
Any disease like fungal infection in ear.
Acute otitis media can cause such pains.
Trigeminal neuralgia is there is no infection in ear.
Hypertension.
This can be well diagnosed by an actual examiantion of ear, preferably by an ENT Surgeon.
The treatment will obviously be as per the cause found as mentioned above.
Hence ask your Doctor to refer to an ENT Specialist.
