Suggest Remedies For Phantosmia, With History Of Hiatal Hernia
My husband has a constant smell in his nose. He says it is a citrus/sweet smell, and it is driving him nuts. He also suffers from a hiatal hernia giving him a great deal of trouble. I don t know how the two could be related. The smell just started about three weeks ago. He has never had an EEG.
As there is history of hiatus hernia, the phantosmia is definitely concern with the chemical alteration in epithelia of upper food passage and secondary irritation of the breathing (air) pipe as early part of pharynx and others. Kindly discuss the same with your treating physician for further guidelines and care.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
