Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your toddler have symptoms of persistent cough and cold which seems to be due to severe upper respiratory tract infection and due to allergic asthma.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult paediatrician without any delay. Doctor may order blood test, x ray of the chest, throat swab test, and Immunoglobulin G levels monitored to detect level of infection and star treatment accordingly. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with inhalers, decongestants and mucolytic agents . For now do warm saline rinses , take rest. Sodium cromoglycate is effective way to prevent infection.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
