General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
What precautions you have taken following injury to your finger nail is fine. Take care to keep the wound clean so that it does not get infected.
The nail which is remaining in the finger needs to be carefully dissected and to be removed by a minor surgical procedure. Following this, you would require to take antiinflammatory and antibiotic medications, along with alternate days dressing of the wound to keep it clean and aid the healing process. The healing should be complete in 7 to 10 days.
Kindly consult Surgeon for local examination of the wound and further management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
