Suggest Remedies For Insomnia In Spite Of Taking Medication
My mother is sleepless night for more than 3-5 days. She tried hard to sleep but can t. She is advised to take sleeping pills but sometimes that was also not effective. She has high BP and sugar. Please sugges what should I do? Is this a nerve problem? Thanks.
Hello Welcome to HCM. Sleep is usually decreased in old age. I think your mother should follow these tips for better sleep alongwith drugs: She should Avoid napping during the day. It can disturb the normal pattern of sleep and wakefulness. She should Avoid stimulants such as caffeine too close to bedtime. Food can be disruptive right before sleep. She should Stay away from large meals close to bedtime. Ensure adequate exposure to natural light. This is particularly important for older people who may not venture outside as frequently as children and adults. Light exposure helps maintain a healthy sleep-wake cycle. Establish a regular relaxing bedtime routine. Associate your bed with sleep. It's not a good idea to watch TV, listen to the radio, or read at bed time.
This will surely help. Take care.
