Suggest Remedies For Fever, Body Pain, Cough And Chest Pain

Good Morning. I am currently at work, and my 15 year old son is at home. He started with a fever yesterday 102.5, aches, and cough. This morning he has fever 101.9, aches, freezing and says his chest hurts so bad, even to tough and its scaring him. He is quite the over exaggerator just wanting to check with someone else before I make arrangements to either leave or get someone to take him.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

Fever with body aches and cough are signs of viral infection. It will last for a few days.

I advise to advise him to:
- drink plenty of fluids, water with ORS, tea
- rest more
- take cold medicines you find over the counter
- apply vapu rub on the chest and upper back to ease coughing
- do aerosol therapy

If he won't be well in a couple of days, consult further with his physician to rule out bronchitis or pneumonia.

Wish fast recovery.
