Suggest Remedies For Dark Spots On Back, Shoulders And Neck

Hello. I am a 28 year old black female and for years now I have been suffering with dark spots on my back , shoulders, and it has started spreading to my neck and chest. I do not understand where they are coming from. Sometimes the spots appear lighter and sometimes darker. These spots keep me from wearing clothes that expose my back. Can you please tell me where they come from so I can get rid of them?

Hello,

I would advise you to have a check to see what the dark spots are. Treatment will depend on the cause.

The doctor will rule out Caffe au Lait spots that are due to a certain medical condition. If they are nevuses there is no treatment to take them away other than surgery and it is recommended that you use sunblock with an SPF 50+.

If they are freckles, certain creams can be used such as those having azelaic acid or retinol. Also, sunblock 50+ SPF is recommended.
