Suggest Remedies For An Open Sore On The Lower Lip That Is Bleeding

Hi, My grandson, 15, has a large pimple? on his lower lip. It is an open sore, similar to a blister but not. I try to encourage him to not scratch, but kids are kids. The concern is that if it starts bleeding, it lasts for a minute or two before stopping. Is this a regular lip blister or something of concern?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your grandson have symptoms of open sore on the lower lip that is bleeding which seems to be due to viral infection and due to exposure to sunlight.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to

- Avoid hot and spicy food which can increase the pain.

- Avoid licking or sucking of lips and apply cold compresses.

- Avoid exposure to sun and apply lip balm with SPF 15.

Spot will subside gradually with such combination of factors. You should visit oral pathologist once if symptoms keeps on occurring and complete examination done and start treatment accordingly. You should take one table of allegra to suside infection.
