My daughter is 11 years old and has significant acne. She was put on Minocycline and Retenia A, she has been on this treatment over 2 months and intially it got very bad and is now back to where it was when we started. It is devastating for her as she also has acne on her back. The acne is not always raised but look like red/purplish dots under the skin. What should I do?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have acne on face and back which seems to be acne vulgaris and it could be due to stress, anxiety, clogged pores of skin with dead bacteria, sleeplessness ,drugs like steroids and oily food. Need not to worry apply Adapelene gel once at night. Also wash affected area with mild soap and cold water twice a day , exfoliate your face once a week , apply aloe vera gel and apply azelaic acid containing cream twice a day. Take antibiotic like azithromycine 500 mg. You should use face wash such as neutrogena oil free. If condition doesn't improve in a month then consult dermatologist for proper evaluation. Doctor may prescribe hydroquinone cream , retinoids or recommend procedures like laser therapy and dermabrassion.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
