Suggest Remedies For A Popped Blister On The Big Toe

Hi, I had a blister on the side of my big toe. I popped it and about two days later I noticed what looked like fluid bubbles under my skin around where the blister was. Whenever they pop they drain a clear fluid and now the skin started hardening around them which I thought was healing and it is now larger and the hardened skin peels off with raw skin and this clear fluid underneath. Is there anything over the counter I can use now? Oh, and when I touch it it feels numb.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to an infection of the toe. I suggest to clean the are of the toe with hydrogen peroxide and cover it with Neosporin cream. I suggest to use anti-inflamatory medications such as Ibuprofen for the pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
