Suggest Remedies For A Persistent Crack On Lower Lip
My son has a crack in his bottom lower lip. I have been putting neosporin nighttime lip renewal cream on it for about a month, but the lip never seems to completely heal. I used Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide cream on a spot that kept recurring on the corner of his month last year and it helped. I was wondering if there is a fungal infection on his lip and if I should try that cream on his lip.
I can understand your concern. Having a crack on lip that does not heal does not indicate presence of fungal infection. It means that the lips are staying dry persistently or your son is having vitamin B complex deficiency.
Does you son have the habit of constantly licking his lower lip with tongue? If that is the case, then this habit can make the lip extremely dry making them cracked and not letting them heal. In that case, he can apply moisturizer or lip balm like Vaseline on the lip while trying to quit the habit.
In addition, he can start taking Vitamin B complex supplements such as B-Folcin once a day for about a month. If it does not help, then a dermatologist should be seen for diagnosing any systemic problem associated with the condition.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HCM. Take care.
