Suggest Remedies For A Painful Bump Behind The Ear

Hello, today I found a bump behind the top of my ear, which felt hard and very painful. I also noticed that my face was itching, along with my scalp. I wasn t aware of the itching however, until I used a Clean and Clear Facial Scrub. Since then the bump hurts a bit more and I ve been itching. Any advice on how to get rid of the bump? I have a feeling the itching will go away.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of painful bump behind the ear along with itching on face which is due to post auricular lymph node infection. It could be due to acute mastoiditis, post-auricular lymphadenitis and dermoid cyst.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to avoid touching or pricking bump wit sharp object and maintain hygiene. Apply warm compresses and visit ENT Specialist once and get investigation done by FNAC( fine needle aspiration cytology) and start treatment after proper examination. You should take proper course of antibiotic as well. You can go for incision and drainage as well if pus is there.
