Suggest Remedies For A Painful Blister Near The Anus
I recently was hired by UPS as a driver helper and am required to hop on and off the most uncomfortable passenger seat. It s the kind that is spring loaded and folds up when you take your weight off of it. After 2 days of working 10 hour shifts I now have what looks and feels like a blister on the inside crack of my butt located a few centimeters south of my anus. I am in a lot of pain and don t know what to do and I am scheduled to work the same shift for the remainder of the week. Please help!
I am sorry for the discomfort that you are experiencing. Treatment would involve:
(1) In most cases, avoiding prolonged standing or sitting but this would be difficult for you. You may have to obtain a seating donut or other cushion from a store to use when you are working to help reduce the pressure so that this can heal and to prevent it from recurring.
(2) When you have the time in the mornings and evenings, a sitz bath would be very helpful. This means sitting in a tub filled with warm not hot water with table salt or epsom salt added. This should be done for 15 to 20 mins.

(3) Topical pain gel such as Lidocaine can be applied to the area. (4)oral pain killer such as Naproxen, Voltaren, Ibuprofen etc. (5) Since it may hurt to have bowel movements, may need to consider a stool softener for a few days. I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
