Suggest Post Operative Precautions For Bilateral Salpingectomy Procedure

Hi, I will have a procedure called bilateral salpingectomy. I have been told to take 2 weeks off work, which I m okay with. I was wondering, what can I really expect after the surgery, what will be the discomfort? Will I be in bed for a week, or what type of activities can I expect doing those days?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If you are having an abdominal salpingectomy you may need 3-6 weeks to feel normal again. If you are having laparoscopic salpingectomy you may need 2-4 weeks. You are not supposed to stay in bed for 3-6 weeks. You may be walking after 2-3 days. You may need to avoid strenuous activities, lifting weights, running etc.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
