Hi, suffering from wheals on skin fom 10th sep. I was under medication from 15th sep. Used Levocetrizine medicine for 10 days. The day I took first medicine, it cured. But once I stopped using regular tablet (Levocetrizine) on 24th, again wheals developed on skin from 25th sep morning. is there any permanent cure? pls suggest. I am not allergic to anything. No new habits developed recently. No fever.

Hello,

I would like to suggest that:

1. You do a Skin Allergy Test: This will give you a chance to avoid any allergen or stimulant which can have a much better effect in you.
2. Quantitative IgE

At the same time, without delay you can also start treatment:

1. Cetrizine 5mg + PSEUDOEPHEDRINE HYDROCHLORIDE 120mg combination: take 1 tablet every 12 hours; do not take more than 2 tablets in 24 hours.

2. If no relief occurs, we can go for Immunotherapy. Its more higher level of treatment. Before that, I strongly advise you to do the tests I said above.

With the test results, please post another question here.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician
