Suggest Medicine For Tooth Ache While Breast Feeding

Got toothache for past 12 hours after having a deep filling on wednesday pm. Can't sleep. Have took painkillers waiting for them to kick in. I have a 9 week old baby and am breastfeeding. I dont want to rely too much on painkillers but feel i have to have them after 5 hours.

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain first of all i would like to tell you that in case of normal filling of tooth you should have no pain as in case of simple filling of tooth you can experience sensitivity to hot and cold for 3 to 4 days but no pain..
If after filling you are having pain you should consult your dentist to get checked that during cavity making if your nerves are exposed.

If the treatment being done is ROOT CANAL TREATMENT some pain is acceptable after the initial sitting for which antibiotics and painkillers are given to reduce infection and pain.

The other thing is that in breast feeding mothers few painkillers are found safe as they have less transfer rate in milk that can harm the baby.

Few of those medicines which can be taken are PARACETAMOL, IBUPROFEN.

They can be taken to relieve pain in nursing mothers ad recommended doses do not harm the baby.

Hope your query is solved.

Thanks and regards..
