Suggest Medicine For Red And Itchy Bumps On The Elbows

I have red itchy bumps on both of my elbows. I have had them for about two-three weeks now. I have been applying hydrocortisone and eczema cream and none of that is helping. They are not going away and it feels like they are getting worse. It started to happen when the weather became hot and humid

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Perhaps you have an eczematous skin condition. I suggest you to use an intensive moisturizer, 2-3 times in a day. In addition I suggest you to apply a potent topical steroid e.g either clobetasol propionate 0.05% cream or halobetasol propionate 0.05% cream twice daily. These are prescription medications and I advice you to talk to your local practitioner for a prescription of the same. Topical hydrocortisone cream is too mild a preparation to be of any benefit for an eczematous skin condition.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
