Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi I am 31 yrs old male nd i am having a medicine with the combination ofloxaxine orndazole since last saturday but the motion is still loose. please suggest a remedy. I had fever on saturday nd thn started this medicine. the frequency of passing stool has reduced but the stool is still watery.
Diarrhea with fever means there is most probably an intestinal infection.A combination of Ofloxacin and Ornidazole is good in such cases. But if there is no relief then you may need another antibiotic active against intestinal infection such as Cefiixime or so. This is a prescription based medication hence needs a proper prescription from your Doctor. It is also advised to to have tests of stool and blood to be sure what the problem is. Let your Doctor decide after clinical evaluation and correlation with reports to change over any medications as needed. Take plenty of oral fluids, electrolyte solution to have proper hydration.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
