Suggest Medications To Reduce Blood Sugar Levels

High blood sugar. Anything I can take to help lower my gulcose/hemoglobin levels without taking medicine. I am 70 years old and not a bigger desert, soda or candy guy and go the the gym three days a week to walk on a trend mill and do light weights. I do drink probably two glass of red wine daily and once or twice a week have a mixed drink.

A strict schedule of proper life style is must besides taking proper antidiabetic treatment. You need daily walk both in the morning as well as evening and diet modifications. Instead of wine go for soya milk, diluted curd made from skimmed milk, juice of bitter guard and sometimes juice of bottle guard. Go for regular monitoring by having levels of glycated hemoglobin in your blood. consult your physician for the drugs, according to me you should take combination of biguanide and sulfonylurea - if this keeps your HbA1c below 7% then its fine otherwise you need to add Insulin or a glitazone. Besides all these keep a check on your blood lipid profile and blood pressure control as well.......tc care
