Suggest Medications For Treating Infection In Burns

I burned the top of my foot 4 months ago. It s about 15% of it original size (now the size of a quarter). The remaining wound appears to continuously peel instead of healing and continues to be uncomfortable. Is there something I need to be doing to help it heal?

Hello, the first thing you need to ensure is that there is no clinical evidence of infection (no pus discharge/purulent base/surrounding edema, redness and severe pain etc.), because if this is the case , you need a course of antibiotics (topical or syatemic depending on the clinical picture) to clear it and promote healing. If there is no evidence of infection, then no role of antibiotics in wound healing.
The key to healing of a clean wound is aseptic regular dressings. I would adv you to clean the wound daily with betadine solution, and dress it by first keeping a tulle grass dressing so that it doesnot adhere to the base. The other factors that will aid healing are rest (restricted mobility of the affected part), controlling blood sugar levels if diabetic etc.
I wish you faster recovery
Thanks
