General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello!
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
It is normal that after an injury the leg might be swollen, bruised and painful.
If he can walk after the injury than no serious damage has happened.

Keep putting ice on it,keep the leg in an elevated position to reduce swelling.Give him Ibuprofen or Naproxen for the pain.

If the pain and the swelling doesn't seems to get better you need to consult a physician and get an X-ray of your leg.

Hope my answer has helped.
Take care.
