my 8.5 months baby is having SLIGHT loose motion now. she passed stools as usuall in the morning. seem to be no pain but this is the first time that has happened. if it happens again what canbe done. her weight is 7kg, birth weight was 2.5kg.pls advise
Hello! I had gone through your query and understand your concern.
Loose motion or diarrhea refers to the frequent passage of stools which are loose and watery. Watery bowel movements are very common and are usually not very serious. The condition is more frequent in children.
If your daughter has no pain, vomits, fever, mucus and pus in stool, blood in stool than you don't need to worry.
If the diarrhea last more than 3 days or has any of the above symptoms you should consult a pediatrician. Meanwhile you should avoid the dehydration due to frequent diarrhea by giving her plenty of fluids.
Hope It answered your query. Take care. Dr.Rovena
