Suggest Medications For Adenoid Removal Cautery

how can I help my 6 year old son recover well from adenoid removal and cautery? He can t sleep as his nose is still blocked and he won t let go of the tissues and keeps them over his nose. The help card said to encourage nose breathing but Jude s is still blocked and he won t try.

Thanks for your query. Adenoid removal should give the child relief from nasal obstruction almost immediately , in the post operative period. Although in some cases , the benefit of improved nasal breathing may not become apparent for few weeks after the surgery ( till the operative site heals completely ). You may use topical & oral nasal decongestant drugs for temporary relief, as per physicians advice.
