Hi,

Pause MF (Mefenamic Acid and Tranexamic Acid) is a medication commonly prescribed for the treatment of heavy bleeding during periods, it is not used to postpone the period. To postpone the period you can take one Norethisterone tablet three times daily 1/2 hr after food and 3 days before expected due date. You may continue to take as long as you wish (maximum for 2 weeks).

You will get a withdrawal bleeding or period within 3 to 7 days after stopping the drug. Remember your next 1 to 2 cycle may be irregular due to hormonal imbalance as period date will be reset. However, it becomes regular over the time. Generally it is safe and well tolerated, however it may cause nausea, mild abdominal cramp, breast tenderness, bloating sensation or headache. Since this is a prescription based medicine you need to consult a doctor.
