Hello and thank you for asking HCM.

I understand your concerns about your infection.
Usually an urinary tract infection is treated easily with antibiotics, but htere are times when the bacteria is resistant to the antibiotics. That's why we change the type of the antibiotic,to get rid of the infection.
UTIs are almost always caused by bacteria, although some viruses, fungi, and parasites can infect the urinary tract as well.

Since i am missing some information of your medical report i will give you the options.
Here are some of the possibilities:
1-the doctors know it is a bacterial infection but they can't find the type.
It happens, since some bacterial cultures, needs special tests to be found. so they will find them in other cultur tests and will treat with antibiotics
2-it is not a bacterial infection. in that case the antibiotics will not work and you need antivirals for example,or antifungals.

You need to talk with your urologyst for the right treatement. I would not suggest to try by yourself at home taking antibiotics without consulting your doctor.

Also you can help your body fight the infection.
-have plenty of liquids,2-3 liters per day
-have fresh fruit juice, especially cranberry juice or orange juice
-chamomile tea, rose tea to help your bladder
-don't hold your urine for long
-urinate always after having sex.
