Psychiatrist Dr. Shubham Mehta's  Response
Hello,
Depakote has multiple uses. It acts as a mood stabilizer and an antiepileptic.
It is also given to prevent future episodes of migraine.
Just take care of the common side effects of depakote like weight gain, hair loss, gastritis etc.
Thanks.

Addiction Medicine Specialist Dr. Preeti Parakh's  Response
Hi,

Yes, Depakote is effective in treating seizure disorder, bipolar disorder and migraines as well. If you have all the three disorders, then valproate (Depakote) is indeed a very good option for you.

Best wishes.
