Suggest Medication For Recurring Ear Infection

Since I was a child, I remember to have taken Amoxicilline 500 mg 3 times a days when I get a middle ear infection, but now it wasn t so easy to get, although I did anyway in Reynosa, Tamps. Am I taking the right thing? Three capsules per day? Thank you, Sergio R. Lorenzo

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concern.
Some advices that I can give to you are :
-A warm compress. Placing a warm, moist washcloth over the affected ear may lessen pain.
-Pain medication like acetaminophen (Tylenol, others) or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB, others) to relieve pain.
-continue with the antibiotics three times a day for 5 days
-use boric acid drops as an antiseptic
Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
