Suggest Medication For Persistent Dry Cough

Dear Dr, Greetings! My son is 3 yearsand 16 days old. He has a bad cough since last 3 days, His Dr gave protussa 2.5 ml three times a day, he had 3 dose of syrup but cough increased so on next day we went back to the doc who added one more syrup Albutamol 2.5 ml thrice a day. we have given him today. I want to know Along with albutamol and protussa cough syrup is safe as his body weight 10 kg, waiting. Thanks sunil

Hi, protussa cough syrup is good in dry cough but syrup albuterol has no role in this rather it is contraindicated in this case as it is a expectorant.
If your son his having persistent coghy since 3 days then I think he will require oral antibiotics like azitromucin or from cephalosporins in syrup form but only n only after pediatricians consultation.
