Allergist and Immunologist 's  Response
Hello.

Thank you for asking at HCM.

I went through your history and would like to make following suggestions for your son:

1. As long as allopathy is concerned, I would agree to use montelukast & levocetirizine (Montek-LC-Kid) on regular basis. However, at 5 years of age, dose of montelukast may need to be increased.

2. I would also agree that your son would need to use asthalin (salbutamol) inhaler on as-and-when-needed basis for wheezing/breathing difficulty symptoms.

However, if he needs to use it frequently (more than twice in a week), I would suggest him regular inhaled corticosteroids.

3. I would suggest your son allergy testing for air-borne and food allergens. It will help you identify the substances causing allergies to him and also to know the measures to avoid them.

Based on allergy testing, an Allergist-Immunologist may prescribe him allergen specific immunotherapy which gradually improves allergy symptoms by working on immune system.

4. I would also suggest him a nutrition rich diet.

Hope above suggestions will be helpful to you.

Should you have any further query, please feel free to ask at HCM.

Wish your son the best of the health.

Thank you & Regards.
