There are different kind of creams used to stop itching but you can t get rid of it if you don t treat the primary cause. Is your skin red too, does it have any unusual smell? In most of the cases skin infection from candida (candidasis) is responsible for the itching in groin area. So you have to treat it first. There are creams that contain steroids and antimycotic drugs. One removes the inflammation and itching of the skin, and the other treats the infection. I would recommend you Travocort (isoconazole nitrate + diflucortolone valerate) the first week and Travogen (isoconazole nitrate) the second week.
