Suggest Medication For Excess Acid Production With Depression

I am taking 5-htp for severe clinical depression/anxiety and it s the only thing that is helping me with my symptoms. Problem is I get acid reflux from it. My naturopath doctor said I don t make ENOUGH acid and to take the 5-htp with hydrochloric acid. This did nothing to relieve me, but didn t make me worse. When I take zantac 150 and Pepcid AD make me burn worse!! I also tried natural things that are recommended like Deglycerized Licorice, Baking soda, apple cider vinegar, and more i can t remember right now. Would something like Nexium help? I know those drugs cause osteoporosis, but my mental health is the most important thing right now. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Read your history and understood the concerns regarding have to take 3-htp for control of depression and anxiety, the only thing that helps you control your symptoms but that is causing acid reflux.
Since the acid reflux is not getting controlled with Zantac or Pepcid AD I would suggest you the following.
The acid reflux is controlled with motility regulators like Domperidone or Reglan and if you take these in consultation with your Doctor you will be benefited.
Control of anxiety and depression should automatically help you to have reduced reflux.
Upper GI endoscopy to see whether you have hiatus hernia, if present may need surgery for correction.
