Hi,

Green stool is normal. If your child is constipated, meaning that the stool is taking shape from the buttocks when you see in the diaper, of if the stool is indeed less fluid than that, I would offer the child a laxative. How much and which brand can be discussed with your physician.

It is good to know, that as a rule of thumb, that it takes approximately the same amount of time, for the child to get rid of his/her constipation thoroughly, as the child has been constipated - in this case around one and a half years.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Julian Bjerrekaer, Pediatrician
