Suggest Medication For Cold And Diarrhea In Infant

Hello Doctor, my 9 month old daughter is having diarrhea for past a week. She poops after every intake. We met our Doctor and he told it will be cured automatically but still her poop count had not gone down. She also has got cold now. So can I give apple sauce the food which Doctor prescribed for diarrhea?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your child has cold and diarrhea which seems to be due to acute gastroenteritis and electrolyte imbalance in body and poor immunity of body. Need not to worry. I would suggest you not to panic at all. You should start treatment with combination of fluoroquinolones and ornidazole. Give her mashed banana on daily basis and light food. Drink plenty of fluids to rehydrate her. Visit gastroenterologist once and get it examined and start treatment after prescription. You should get intravenous fluid administration as well. Avoid taking Domperidone. Avoid hot, sharp and spicy food.
