Suggest Medication For Burning Sensation During Urination
hi. i have had an on and off issue with burning sensation after urinating. I was tested at my school health facility and they sent a sample to a lab and it didnt really show any signs of a UTI. I took antibiotic anyway and it seemed to go away for a while, but now it is back. It is still happening on and off but it s a lingering pain and I m not sure what s causing it.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Burning sensation while urinating is suggestive of urinary tract infection. I suggest you give another sample to look for evidence of infection. In case there is presence of pus cell or bacteria, there is possibility of urinary tract infection. An urine culture should follow urine examination if pus cells are present. In case there is no evidence of infection in urine, I suggest you get a semen analysis (in case you are a male). Inflammation of prostate also causes deep seated pain in pelvis. In case you are a female, I suggest you to get a pelvic ultrasound to assess the pelvic organs.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
